Traveling Rotarian, Marty Prah, talks about the Urological

conference that he and fiance, Cindy Bradley, went

to a couple of weeks ago.

Our program today, and Past District Governor, Nina Clancy,

educates the Club on the new Gates Foundation challenge

to finish the eradication of Polio. The Gates Foundation will

match all Rotary donation dollar for dollar, up to $2 million.

Each VB Rotarian is challenged to raise $156 over the next

3 years to achieve this goal for the District.

Bob Dickey (right), presents President Dennis Johnson with

a certificate of appreciation and the banner from our

international service project partner, The Rotary Club of Presidente

Prudente Sul-Brazil. This club has been working with us to

finish our international service project.

District Governor, August Hioco, addresses all

54 District Club's Presidents-Elect and began

explaining changes within RI and the District

Bob Eurich welcomes all of his "Pilot", Presidents-Elect

under his year to their new assignments and begins

the orientation process for these folks.

Eductional planning for your children and some

of the minefields that you should avoid and offered

some great information for the club members.

VBR Club Meeting

Anees Akhund and President Dennis induct our newest

member, Roberta Stephens.

Anees does the honor of pinning Roberta with

her first Rotary pin.

Our program today, Tom Johnson, California State Secretary

of Veterans Affairs discusses issues within his department

and California State budget issues.

Tom brought in this graph showing the state expenditures

(in red) and income (in green), clearly showing not only the

incredible growth in state spending, but also the dramatic

shortfall for 2009 and 2010.

What a blessing our club has with the Visalia Country

Club as a backdrop. Here members Kevin Daniel, Harold Rollin

and Brice Yocum enjoy our program.

Jim and Bonnie Preston were our program for the day. Jim

shared with us their trip to Cambodia and Laos and had some

great information and did a terrific job relating information

on that corner of the world.
